$7M Project at the Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport

rsvra.jpgThe Chamber has again been actively involved and successful in advocating additional improvements at RSVR Airport.  The FAA will be installing mandatory Runway Safety Areas (RSA) on each end of the main runway. The project will add length to the runway within the RSA project giving RSVR approximately 500’ additional.  The project will also include a needed realignment of the entrance to Airport Road, repaving the road end to end and adding a right hand turning lane into the road from US Route 103. The project is supported by the Clarendon Selectboard members and the neighbors along Airport Road.

The additional runway length makes this airport even more viable, reliable and safe.

RSVRA is the second busiest airport in Vermont next to Burlington and is a significant asset to the region; supporting business and recreation.

Historically RSVRA had enjoyed great support from our Congressional Delegation, our Rutland County Legislators and the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

The Chamber would like to thank the FAA, Vermont Agency of Transportation, and Clarendon Selectboard and the neighbors for their commitment to getting this project accomplished for the benefit of the greater Rutland region.
