4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza
Don’t miss the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Extravaganza! Thanks to our supporting sponsors listed below, the Chamber is able to provide a community celebration of our nation’s independence with the areas largest fireworks display.
The fireworks will begin at 9:45pm at the Vermont State Fairgrounds following Summer Smash 2010 presented by the Vermont State Fair. BROC Flea Market will run 9am-4pm, with food, vendor concessions and grandstand gates open at 4:30pm, followed by the Stoney Roberts Demolition Derby at 6:30pm.

RRCC 29th Annual Winter In August Celebration

The Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce is excited to invite you to the 29th Annual Winter In August Celebration sponsored by Mac's Market/Mac's Flame Rite Heating Oil.
This event, which started over a quarter century ago, is held to recognize the positive economic impact that the ski areas have on the region.
Space is available for food vendors; this is a great opportunity to showcase your business to about 800 people.
The food fest will take place Tuesday, August 10, 2011, 5-8pm. The event is held in Center Street Alley, Downtown Rutland with an inclement weather location of the Diamond Run Mall.
Ticket prices will remain $10 at the door and $9 in advance by filling out the form enclosed in this newsletter. Pre-purchasing allows you quicker access on the day of the event.

RRCC Holds Open House

The Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce held an Open House at their new location (50 Merchants Row, Downtown Rutland) on June 17th. Over 100 people stopped in to celebrate the Chamber's new location. If you didn't have a chance to come to the Open House we are happy to give you a tour. The Chamber has also extended their hours of operation. Monday-Wednesday 8:30am-5:00pm, Thursday & Friday 8:30am-6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm.
RRCC 25th Annual Golf Classic Results
The 25th Annual Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, was held June 3, 2010 at the Killington Golf Resort.
Jack Healey of NSN Radio was the Guest Master of Ceremonies at the Awards Banquet following the tournament. Trophies and awards were presented by President John Valente to the following teams: First Place Gross: GE Rutland; First Place Net: Merchants Bank; Second Place Gross: Casella Waste Management; Second Place Net: Holden Financial; Third Place Gross: FairPoint Communications; Third Place Net: Fitz Vogt & Associates. A large crowd was on hand at the June Chamber Mixer hosted by OMYA, Inc. at Vermont Marble Museum and Gift Shop. Those in attendance got to view the new OMYA Room, sample great food from Cafe' Provence and network. The July Mixer will be held on July 13th at Rutland Motorcars

Employee’s Claim and Employer First Report of Injury First-Aid Only Injuries and Deductible Policies
In the case of a work-related, first-aid-only injury, the employer shall file the first report of injury with the department of labor. The employer shall file the first report of injury with the workers? Compensation insurance carrier or pay the medical bill within 30 days. If the employer contests a claim, a first report of injury shall be forwarded to the department of labor and the insurer within five days of notice. If additional treatment or medical visits are required or if the employee loses more than one day of work, the claim shall be promptly reported to the workers? Compensation insurer, which shall adjust the claim. ´Work-related, first-aid-only-treatment¡ means any one-time treatment that generates a bill for less than $750.00 and for which the employee loses no time from work except for the time for medical treatment and recovery not to exceed one day of absence from work
