Chamber's Getting It Done
Here is an outline some of the recent successes the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce has had in promoting and building this region. For example, in recent years we have played an integral role in securing millions of dollars in transportation funds for area roads, our airport, and our railways.
Working with area lodging we have actively pursued and secured several major conventions that are taking place in Rutland, i.e. the Model T Ford Club International will hold their Annual Summer Tour here in July.
Annually we respond to thousands of tourist requests by phone, mail and email. Together with the Mountain Times we distribute tens of thousands of our beautiful regional magazines. In addition we distribute tens of thousands of area maps, guides and brochures representing our local businesses and attributes.
We promote the area through our active web site rutlandvermont.com. You can also find us promoting the area on a daily basis using Facebook, Twitter and QR Codes.
We just completed our very successful business expo and are currently planning our Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza and our annual ski industry recognition called Winter In August.
We are very excited about our significant new presence on Merchants Row where you can find our employees, a visitor’s center replete with information, and an active community conference room complete with amenities like pubic restrooms and public wireless internet access.
I want to thank our dedicated hard working staff; Ann Marie Clifford, Joan Hill and Penny Inglee, as well as our dedicated board of directors, and our host of amazing volunteers.
Lastly, I want to recognize the generous support of our business community. Proudly we are a membership driven regional organization that raises all of our own funding without the benefit of your tax dollars.
Tom Donahue RRCC Executive Vice President / CEO
